By installing or using Calendar to Slack you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, uninstall the add-on.
Calendar to Slack is free, open source software published under the MIT licence by Michael Whelan, referred to below as the maintainer. The source is at github.com/michael-whelan/calendar-to-slack.
It reads the guest list of a Google Calendar meeting you have open and creates a private Slack channel containing the guests it can match to accounts in your Slack workspace. Where your workspace forbids creating channels through the API, it opens a group DM instead.
Actions are performed as you, using a Slack token you authorise. Anything the add-on creates is subject to your workspace’s own policies and retention rules, and belongs to your organisation, not to the maintainer.
You need the right to use both the Google Workspace account and the Slack workspace you connect. If your organisation requires administrator approval to install apps, obtain it rather than working around it.
You are responsible for what you create with the add-on, including who ends up in a channel. The add-on matches guests by email address and cannot judge whether a given person should have access to a given conversation. Check the guest list before you click.
Do not use the add-on to break the law, to breach your organisation’s policies, or to breach the Slack or Google terms of service.
The add-on is provided as is, with no commitment to availability, support or continued publication. It depends on the Google Calendar, Google Apps Script and Slack platforms, any of which may change or break it without notice. The maintainer may change, suspend or withdraw it at any time.
Support is best effort, through GitHub issues, with no response time undertaking.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the add-on is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the maintainer is not liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from the add-on or its use. This includes, without limitation, channels created in error, people invited to a conversation who should not have been, data disclosed as a result, and any loss of business, revenue or data.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
You may stop at any time by clicking Disconnect in the add-on and uninstalling it from the Google Workspace Marketplace. See the privacy policy for what that removes.
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.
Material changes will be published on this page with a new date above. Continuing to use the add-on after a change means you accept the revised terms.
